Nets and Libraries

 

The Directorate of libraries hereby invites entries for the annual sharjah prize for Library Literature.

* Topics

  • - Diversity of data sources and its impact on libraries frequentation and information centers
  • -Comparison between two sources and its importance to the users
  • The relation between nets and libraries and data restitution
  • The importance of technological and traditional sourcees and their importance in speeding up the process of data restitution
  • * NOTES:

- One or more topics can be discussed in the research and preferbly what is applied to the society of the UAE.


* RULES & REGULATIONS:

  1. Participation is open for all.
  2. Papers can be submitted in Arabic or English language.
  3. Paper should be new, non-published, not presented in any competition. Thesis that were submitted before for any
  4. University degree are also not allowed.
  5. Papers must be submitted in 3 copies in paper from in addition to CD along with an abstract.
  6. Paper research methodology must be reflected in the paper including citation.
  7. Candidates must comply with copyright and intellectual property laws in citing others.
  8. Topics should survey studies to reflect the existing situation of services in the library under study.
  9. Candidates should submit CVs, personal photos and their local addresses along with the papers.
  10. The award committee will have the right to retain the submitted papers.
  11. Award winning papers shall be published in (IQRA') the annual magazine published by sharjah library.

    * The papers should be submitted before tha 31st of January 2005 starting from 23/4/2008 till 31/1/2009
    * Chash awards:

1st prize Dhs.1 5.000/-

2nd prize Dhs. 10.000/-

3rd prize Dhs. 5.000/-
