Kalba Library

Kelba is the southernmost point of the Emirate of Sharjah, and lies beyond Fujairah. Though urbanized. Kelba retains the cham and simplicity of a fishing village, which it essentially is. While in Kalba, remmber to explore the old mansion of Sheikh Saeed Al Qassimi overlooking the sea, the Sttongholds and the Kalba Al Hisn Fort & Museum.

 

Khor Kallba Nature Reserve is home to an impressive variety of birds like the Reef Heron. The Kalba White-Collared Kingfisher breed only here and faces possible extinction,with just 55 pairs existing. The Booted Warbler is another rare variety, now being protected by conservation efforts. Kalba Library was opened for the public in February 1989.
